Amusement parks and other facilities in and around ECR
- Prarthana Drive in – This is about 10 km outside of Adyar. This theatre complex offers a cinema theatre and a drive in restaurant.
- MGM Dizzee World –Wide spread over about 27 acres, this theme park offers food stalls, joy rides and other recreational activities like games. It has one of the first roller coaster rides of Chennai coupled with swimming pools with its water slides and dashing car drives.
- Dakshinachitra – A venture started by Deborah Thiagarajan and her associates from the Madras Craft Foundation, is a collection of various kinds of traditional houses transported from various parts of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamilnadu. They were rebuilt here later on. It therefore has a presentation of a blend of a wide range of cultures and traditions of the Indian heritage. The objective of this type of construction is to let people of different countries understand the types of houses and culture followed by the different states of India. NRIs, children of expats who do not live in India also can get to know them as they are unaware of these details of their own country.
- VGP Universal Kingdom – This is another spot of amusement and recreation for people which is just about 11 kms from Adyar. It has different types of odd rides for the fun loving crowd. This also has access to the beach which is another attraction to visitors to spend time and relax.
- Mayajaal Multiplex- Another spot of entertainment with restaurants and eat outs, offers movie theatres, video games parlours. This multiplex attracts people of different age-groups allowing them to spend time the entire day from 11 am to 11 pm.
- Restaurants and Hotels- There are a number of multi-cuisine hotels and eat outs on ECR reaching people of various income levels.
